The cost of marketing to find and enroll a new child far exceeds the cost of keeping children already enrolled in your center. The following are five tips for maintaining enrolled children.
1. Keep parents happy. Parents that are happy with you and your employees are less likely to take their child out of your center.
2. You should know the first and last name of each parent or guardian. And, greet parents in a positive manner both at drop off and pick up each day.
3. Ask parents if they are happy with your services. Is their child happy with his teacher, the center, the playground, etc.? Do they have suggestions for improving the center?
4. Use multiple means to communicate with parents i.e. newsletters, personal notes, emails, phone calls, and bulletin boards.
5. Offer a referral fee if happy parents tell other parents about your child care center, and it results in the enrollment of a new child.
Maintaining a current customer is always less expensive than gaining a new one.
