Officials break ground on new Columbus childcare center, Polk Co.’s only licensed facility

MARCH 10, 2023 – Officials held a groundbreaking Friday, March 10, for the Columbus Children’s Center, an early childhood education center that will serve as Polk County’s only licensed childcare facility for birth to three years old. Located on the campus of Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry, the center will be run by nonprofit WNCSource and will provide Early Head Start programs for children.
